Timber Frame It Installations
Warmcel
Timber Frame It Ltd are BBA inspected, Warmcel Approved Installers. We can install Warmcel 300 for loft/roof space applications or Warmcel 500 for timber frame wall applications. The product is delivered into the loft/roof or wall via a long hose connected to a main 'blow machine'. This shreds and blows the insulation through the hose into the applicable area at the touch of a remote control button which is attached to the installer.
Combining the highest levels of thermal performance with enviable environmental credentials, Warmcel delivers the capability to downsize space heating requirements, maximise heat retention and provide a healthy living environment.
Environmental
Warmcel is manufactured from 100% recycled waste newspaper and has extremely low embodied energy, requiring far less energy to produce than any other mainstream insulation material.
It does not contain any added formaldehyde and is free from CFCs, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other toxic substances. And by reducing heating demand, Warmcel also plays a major part in reducing household CO2 emissions. When, eventually, Warmcel insulation is removed from a building, it can be recycled again or disposed of safely, without creating toxic waste or biodegradability problems.
Thermal Performance
With an impressive thermal conductivity value (k) of only 0.036 W/mK, Warmcel's 'in use' performance is further enhanced by its ability to create a high level of air-tightness to prevent thermal convection currents.
The proven methods of application ensure the insulation provides a complete seal to minimise heat loss, eliminating gaps, cracks or other cold bridges.
Fire Performance
Warmcel is extremely resistant to fire. Its remarkable performance is achieved through the addition of simple inorganic salts, enabling it to comfortably meet the fire protection standards required for timber-frame construction and conventional lofts.
Durability
Warmcel is formulated to protect it against any potential hazards that may be encountered in use. It is resistant to biological and fungal attack, treated against insects and is unattractive to vermin.
Warmcel is also harmless to other common building components such as copper pipes, electric cabling and metal nail-plate fasteners.

Thermafleece
Timber Frame It Ltd stock Thermafleece in a variety of thicknesses and widths and can be purchased on a supply only basis or can be installed by ourselves. In the past we have found that a number of clients, in particular self-builders have wanted to install insulation themselves. This is perfectly achievable with Thermafleece as it is completely safe to work with and simple to install.
Environmental
Thermafleece is made using wool sourced from British hill sheep. Because sheep have to be clipped annually for welfare reasons, wool is a natural renewable fibre from a fully sustainable resource. These qualities alone make it one of the most sustainable insulation materials currently on the market.
Thermal Performance
Thermafleece is manufactured to a density of 25kg/m3 giving a thermal conductivity or K value of 0.039 W/mK. It is a highly thermally efficient insulation and is the only British wool insulation to be BBA certified - (02/3950). Meaning that it totally complies with Building Regulations, in between joists in ventilated and unventilated lofts; under pitched roofs and between rafters for tiled or slated pitched roofs, as well as timber frame wall applications between studding with a weather resistant cladding, and a ventilated and drained cavity.
Other Information
Second Nature UK manufactures Thermafleece in Yorkshire, the heart of the woolen and textile industry. The company aims to stimulate the rural economy by adding value to British wool, a natural fibre from a fully renewable resource and an incredibly efficient and versatile raw material.
Thermafleece gained Energy Savings Recommended Approval from the Energy Saving Trust in 2007. Recommended products have to adhere to strict criteria, which are independently tested, to ensure that people can be confident that the product they are buying meets the very highest standards in energy efficiency.

TLX Silver
TLX Silver is a thin, flexible reflective insulation used with other insulation materials to achieve the U-value requirements of new and existing pitch roofs.
TLX Silver boosts the thermal value of glass wool and slashes the installation time for PUR. It rolls out simply to stop air leakage instantly whilst maximising the gain of the radiant heat in the surrounding air. TLX stops moisture contaminating the insulation and saves on internal room space.
TLX Silver is the only multi-foil certified by BBA and approved by LABC.
How TLX works
TLX Silver is a multi-foil insulation material
- 1. Outer layers of metallised polypropylene film
- 2. Five inner layers of polyester wadding interleaved with
- 3. Four reflective aluminised films
The outer layers and the internal films are welded along both edges of the product. Prevents heat losses by : radiation : conduction : convection.
TLX Silver is not permeable to water vapour, and gives additional benefits as a vapour control layer.
Unlike some other multi-foil products, TLX Silver is not perforated by stitching and so can contribute to the building airtightness.
Characteristics
Timber Frame It Ltd would be happy to supply any Isover product for our clients to install themselves; it requires minimal skill, is one of the most cost effective ways to insulate your home and produces good U-Values.
Natural product
Glasswool production uses abundant raw materials like natural sand and an important part of recycled glass (containers or flat glasses waste). As a Mineral product, glasswool is stable, imputrescible.
Thermal resistance
Thanks to a dense entanglement of materials with a low conduction and trapping a great amount of air, glasswool is a an excellent thermal insulant. The thickest it is, the best thermal resistance it has, thus reducing heat losses in winter and protecting against heat in summer.
Acoustical absorption
Thanks to its elasticity and structure, glasswool offers absorbing, spring and dissipating effects. Noise control (acoustic absorption and insulation) is a natural field of excellence for glasswool.
Fire safe material
Glasswool is incombustible by nature. Euroclasse classification is A. It does not propagate flames and toxic smokes.
Soft product for easy application
Glasswool is a soft touch product , easy to handle and to install; because it is light and elastic, a compressed glasswool roll allows many savings in handling, transport and warehouses. Moreover, the perfect fitting lead to a performing installation avoiding most of the unwanted thermal bridges.
The lightness brings comfort and safety during installation.
Environmentally friendly
Glasswool saves far more energy during its life time than for producing. Thank to elasticity and robustness, glasswool avoids wastes on sites. Compressed rolls or batts reduce packagings use. Glasswool can be recycled for its own production.
We can also insulate to your architects exact specification
