Project Description
TFI provided a Main Contractor Turn Key Service for this New Clubhouse in Kemsing, Kent. We manufactured, erected and insulated the Timber Frame structure. The structure incorporated a floating floor that was insulated with 125mm PIR insulating board.
The External walls were insulated with 140mm Framebatt and finished with a warm roof including 120mm PIR EcoTherm rigid insulation. All U-Values exceed current building regulations.
All final finishes were agreed at an early stage to keep this build on-time and on budget for their annual club finals day.

Competitive tenders were invited from several companies for the construction of a new clubhouse for the tennis club and Timber Frame It (SE) Ltd.’s (TFI’s) quote offered the best value. Their supporting documentation was clear and following an interview at their offices and a tour of several buildings which were under construction locally, favourable comments were obtained from two referees and TFI were awarded the contract.
TFI were well organised in their programme and construction management. They were also very helpful in making suggestions to overcome the potential difficulties resulting from the fire which had destroyed the original building as well as some unsatisfactory details which were legacy from the previous builder.
There is very little space on site and access had to be maintained to at least some of the tennis courts at all times while the building work was in progress. TFI kept the site clean and tidy and cheerfully accommodated the comings and goings of the members while taking care to secure the working area and ensure safety.
TFI were very easy to deal with in relation to some necessary variations and additions to the original design. The extra costs were minimal and TFI were more than fair in pricing for a considerable amount of additional of decking which was decided on late in the building process. It was especially appreciated that their workman were very supportive and worked long hours to ensure that the building and all the surrounding decking was completed in time for the club Finals day in September.
The Tennis Club is very pleased with the finished building which was erected quickly and efficiently and with very little disruption or inconvenience to anyone. TFI went out of their way to achieve an excellent standard of finish throughout and took pride in their work.
The result is a very attractive building achieved on time and within budget and, thanks to TFI’s efficiency, the whole process was remarkably straightforward and stress free.
